Below is general information about the Tree Farm. OUR MISSION: We supply a quality mature landscape tree at wholesale prices, designed for transplant and survivability. Our specialty is the growth of "designer trees" (see below).
WHERE ARE WE? The farm is nestled in the wind blown loess hills of Claksville, Missouri by the Mississippi River. This soil is ideal for tree propagation.
SERVICES: We custom grow larger caliper landscape trees (2.25-3.0 inch caliper) or we will grow a tree to a size tailored for your needs.
ABOUT US: Heaven on Earth Tree Farm is a sustainable agroforestry project. The landscape specimens are interplanted with a maturing walnut and pecan orchard. As the orchard matures, the landscape tree propogation is moved to new acreage. Orchards are maturing as the landscape tree acreage is expanded. This makes a case for happy planned obsolescence.
WHAT IS A DESIGNER TREE? The seed source of our Missouri native trees have a provenance (origination of seed) North of the Missouri River. Line stock are hand-picked "Root Propagation Method" (RPM) trees from Forrest Keeling Nursery in Elsberry Missouri. Chemical use is minimized by hand matting of every tree. No irrigation is utilized resulting in a hardened root system which is more drought tolerant. Trees are currently harvested by ball and burlap method with a slow transition to tree in a bag technology. This enables all root stock to be transplanted without seasonal requirements for digging. These innovations and growing techniques results in a designer tree.
Heaven on Earth Tree Farm is a Missouri Limited Liability Corporation and is certified by the State of Missouri Department of Agriculture, Plant Industries Division, nursery inspection program, as free of injurious insects, pests, and plant diseases. Control number 9-020144 |
